Our list of courses and workshops is a sample of what we can offer your organization to provide managers and supervisors the tools they need to be successful. Once we discuss your company’s specific training needs we can help you select the sessions that will best fit your needs. We can also produce coursework that will be tailored specifically to your needs.

EFFECTIVE INTERGENERATIONAL LEADERSHIP

Focus: The unique perspectives, values, and expectations of those in each of the 4 generations represented in today’s workforce. The emphasis is on experiential activities intended to help participants become more skilled at managing across the generations.
Duration: HALF OR FULL DAY

EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE

Focus: The customer experience. Participants will become skilled at creating, recognizing & rewarding exemplary customer service.
Duration: HALF OR FULL DAY

EFFECTIVE SUPERVISOR AND MANAGER SKILLS

Focus: Both the interpersonal (or soft skills) and the functional (or hard competencies) skills that any manager needs to master in order to be effective.
Duration: 1 OR 2 DAY

SITUATIONAL MANAGEMENT: EVERYDAY SKILLS

Focus: Finding the right management style match given the tasks to be accomplished and the individuals involved. It is widely recognized that there is no single “best” style of leadership; different styles are required depending on the situation.
Duration: 1 OR 2 DAY

MANAGING EMOTIONS IN THE WORKPLACE

Focus: Building effective communication and trust. All managers have the responsibility to manage according to the situation at hand.
Duration: HALF OR FULL DAY

TEAM DEVELOPMENT AND EFFECTIVENESS

Focus: Getting others to work well together in order to reap the benefits of teamwork. The process of building an effective team.
Duration: 1 OR 2 DAY

COACHING FOR EXCELLENCE

Focus: The skills necessary to increase the capacity of your people. Experiential activities will help you capture the “magic” of the coach/candidate relationship-and the resultant rise in output!
Duration: 1 OR 2 DAY

SERVANT LEADERSHIP

Focus: The assertion that leaders should support followers, as opposed to directing them. With foundational principles and practical exercises that apply to chief executives and local managers alike, this course gives participants the keys to leading with integrity, authority, and compassion.
Duration: FULL DAY

INSTRUMENT-BASED TRAINING: USING TESTS TO IMPROVE TRAINING RESULTS

Focus: To prepare facilitators in the selection and administration of tests. The emphasis is on generating improved learning outcomes through the use of tests.
Duration: HALF OR FULL DAY

PERFORMANCE PLANNING FOR INDIVIDUALS AND TEAMS

Focus: To provide participants with a solid framework for managerial effectiveness, objectives and performance planning. The idea of Effectiveness Areas enables us to think about the job in terms of outputs, which are more concrete and directly measurable.
Duration: 1 OR 2 DAY

TEAM EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE

Focus: The skills central to developing your team’s cohesiveness. The emphasis is on those behaviors critical to team success.
Duration: HALF OR FULL DAY

EFFECTIVE PUBLIC SPEAKING

Focus: The skills needed to effectively address groups large and small. Experiential exercises are used throughout.
Duration: HALF DAY

EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT

Focus: Providing some strategies and tactics for time management improvement. None of us is as efficient with our time as we could be.
Duration: HALF DAY

SOLVING PROBLEMS AND PLANNING FOR CHANGE

Focus: Increasing participants’ ability to analyze, synthesize, and integrate information to reach more effective solutions. A significant portion of everyone’s job involves problem solving.
Duration: 1 OR 2 DAY

MANAGERIAL EFFECTIVENESS

Focus: Familiarization of the concept that managers create added value to their employees by making decisions to product the right outcomes.
Duration: 1 OR 2 DAY

BEHAVIORAL BASED INTERVIEWING

Focus: Conducting interviews that will lead to improved performance and increased employee retention. “Typical” interviews provide little, if any, insight into whether the candidate is the right person for the job.
Duration: HALF OR FULL DAY

MISSION, VISION AND PLANNING

Focus: Issues critical to building the foundation upon which the organization is built. It is geared toward organizations in start-up phase, or more “seasoned” organizations going through a significant change process.
Duration: TWO DAY WORKSHOP

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

Focus: Creating effective outcomes through communication.
Duration: HALF OR FULL DAY

THE SDW MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVENESS TRAINING

Focus: An extensive workshop designed to teach managers the techniques they need to be effective working with their employees, peers and upper management. Each group requires a different set of skills and the successful manager must master them all.
Duration: 3-5 DAY WORKSHOP
