The SDW Companies: A Family of Divisions
For most of three decades, SDW has been known as Strategic Development Worldwide and was founded to promote organizational excellence, largely through our deep expertise in management science but also through our admiration and advocacy for the potential of every person in an organization. As our advisory practice has grown, we have launched several new areas of activity — and these are now represented by new divisions, briefly explained below. To learn more about the services, programs, and products offered by these divisions, please visit our What We Do section.
SDW Advisory — The core of Strategic Development Worldwide has always been our advisory services and this new division carries on that tradition, albeit with an expanded team and more areas of expertise to offer our clients. We have worked with clients large and small and in a variety of industries but we take the time to make sure each client relationship reflects the critical objectives of that client and that the work is paced and presented in a way that will make sustainable improvements in the organization. The nature and the duration of each client relationship are variable. The relationship may focus on a particular project, involve just a few programs, or consist of a far-reaching, multi-department review and series of initiatives. Our success is entirely dependent on how much success we can bring to your organization. See our What We Do section for information on the services, programs and products offered by this SDW Advisory.
SDW Learning (Training and Development) — Our science-based approach to organizational development is matched by our strong grounding in the principles of human learning and behavioral change. In organizations, the human resources department often has responsibility for training but we can attest that an appreciation for learning and capacity for change must infuse the entire organization. We have a number of programs that we can tailor to fit your needs and priorities.
SDW Publications — Our newest division, SDW Publications has already produced its first title: The Results Focused Organization, by our CEO and Chief Scientist, Donald Zillioux. More titles will follow in the coming year with our launch of a new series of Field Guides to Organizational Effectiveness. These field guides will become a desktop and briefcase companion for professionals in a variety of company roles: top-team members, managers, supervisors, HR staff, and more. SDW Publications also collects, edits, and releases a growing collection of articles, white papers, and presentations, authored by SDW team members.
SmartBizTools.com — Launching in Spring 2012, SmartBizTools.com will function as SDW’s online partner in several ways. First and foremost, SmartBizTools.com will carry a growing subset of SDW’s portfolio of business products that have been converted for use by self-directed professionals in a stand-alone setting. Very often, an HR chief knows what type of inventory or assessment tool they’re looking for and, even outside of a client relationship, can put a well-constructed, standardized tool to good use at their own company. SmartBizTools.com will serve this need. Second, SmartBizTools.com will become a convenient, web-based delivery channel for tools, surveys, and more that SDW client companies need access to. With a strong architecture for service and product delivery, SmartBizTools.com will have an expanding role in SDW’s future.
With our expanded organization, we have not lost sight of our guiding purpose and principles, but you will find that each of these divisions now contributes a new set of skills and resources to SDW. Ultimately, that means an expanded capacity to serve you and your organization.
